Driver Flees Hit-and-Run Injury Accident on Antelope Road

An Antelope hit-and-run causing injuries happened on July 4, and the driver left the scene but was found. The crash happened at the intersection of Antelope and Walerga roads around 11:32 a.m. between a Nissan Versa and Mazda SUV, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The intersection was blocked by the accident. While the Nissan was left behind, the driver, a male described as being in his 30s, fled on foot.

Fleeing Driver Found Following Hit-and-Run

The man who fled reportedly went south along Walerga Road and entered an apartment complex. When found, the fleeing driver said they didn’t want to leave their vehicle in the roadway, which reopened a few minutes later. Minor injuries were reported in the accident, and the injured person did not want to be taken to a hospital. CHP traffic investigators are determining the accident’s cause.

Fleeing Drivers Who Cause Accidents

Taking action after a motor vehicle accident is crucial if the driver flees the scene so that an injured party can file a compensation claim. Injured parties should be compensated for their pain and suffering by the person responsible for the accident. Our team has recovered many drivers who fled accident scenes. Our methods for finding a hit-and-run driver include the following:

  • Accident reconstruction often reveals who was at fault for the collision. When this type of evidence is presented, it can be used to determine who caused the hit-and-run.
  • As soon as our investigators arrive at the accident site, they begin collecting evidence. It is important to take photographs of the scene and examine paint marks and metal fragments picked up from the vehicle to aid in identifying it.
  • Cameras monitoring traffic are examined to determine if the accident was captured on film. If video footage is available, it can be used to find out what vehicle caused the accident and how it happened.
  • Police accident reports are reviewed by investigators to ensure accuracy. Accident claims may be affected if mistakes are made.
  • Investigations include interviews with witnesses of the accident.

Insurance Can Cover Accident Injuries

Uninsured/underinsured motorist insurance policies may provide compensation to the injured party if the driver cannot pay for the accident injuries. In California, this policy is offered as an optional coverage for drivers who purchase auto insurance. Additionally, a family member with the policy can be used instead if the injured individual does not. There will be no change in the rate in the future.
