Downtown Sacramento Crash
Four people were injured in a downtown Sacramento hit-and-run crash on Thursday, August 11, 2016, according to the Sacramento Fire Department. The four victims were taken by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of varying degrees of injury. At least one of the victims involved in the hit-and-run crash suffered traumatic injuries.
Where Did The Hit-and-Run Crash Happen?
The crash happened along North 16th Street in the vicinity of Basler Street, which is slightly south of Richards Boulevard.
According to authorities, a vehicle drove up onto a sidewalk at the intersection of North 16th and Basler Streets and struck a pedestrian crossing signal.
As a result of the accident, traffic came to a stand still through the area for over an hour as rescue personnel tended to victims and authorities investigated the accident scene.

Even when a motorist or pedestrian is struck by a hit and run driver, so long as he or she has uninsured motorist coverage on their own car or someone in the pedestrian’s residence has such insurance, the pedestrian is typically covered under the uninsured motorist portion of that policy.
