Landscaper Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Del Paso Road
I’m Ed Smith, a Del Paso Heights personal injury lawyer. On March 30, a driver collided with several objects before striking and killing a landscaper who might have been working in the area. A representative of the Sacramento police department said an investigation into the pedestrian accident is ongoing; however, alcohol use by the driver has been ruled out.
What Happened
According to a Sacramento police representative, a call was received about 11:00 a.m. stating that a driver’s vehicle had collided with a pole along Del Paso Road in the stretch between Gateway Park Boulevard and Blackrock Drive. Upon arriving at the accident scene, officers discovered that the driver, who had been heading westbound on Del Paso Road, had hit a tree and a pole. Then the vehicle had run into the landscaper, who was a 51-year-old resident of Stockton. The landscaper perished from his injuries at the scene.
It was speculated that the landscaper might have been working somewhere in the area. However, it was unclear whether he was standing in the area being worked on or was simply standing on the sidewalk when the accident occurred. The driver of the vehicle was severely injured in the crash and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Police closed Del Paso Road while they surveyed the accident scene.
