Fairfield Deadly Car Crash

A fatal car accident took place in Fairfield on Sunday, April 28, 2019. Officers of California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported the collision early in the morning and stated that at least one person lost their life as a result of the accident. Information about the decedent(s) has not yet been provided by authorities. Additionally, the accident remains under investigation by CHP who are trying to determine what factors were involved. I would like to send my condolences to those who are mourning a lost loved one because of this terrible collision.

Accident Details

According to police, the accident happened at the intersection of Beck Avenue and Highway 12 at about 3:15 a.m. Officers did not indicate how the accident occurred or how many vehicles were involved. However, reports did indicate that two ambulances were called to the accident scene and that at least one individual needed to be extracted from their wrecked vehicle. While at least one fatal injury was confirmed, the number of injured individuals has not been reported so far.

The Northbound section of Beck Avenue was closed to traffic briefly before officers shut down access to highway 12 at the area of the accident. Traffic from Highway 12 was diverted to Beck Avenue while authorities responded to the emergency. Reports stated that the highway was not opened until 8:40 a.m., around five hours after the crash took place.

Investigation

As officers continue to investigate this accident, CHP has not mentioned any suspected crash factors. Early morning accidents are common and often include serious injuries. Accidents like this one are often caused by more than one factor and frequently involve distracted driving, hazardous roadway conditions, medical emergencies, DUI, defective car parts, and more.

Another Recent Fairfield Crash

This accident happened not long after another, similar Fairfield crash which took place on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. The accident involved two vehicles which collided in the same location as the April 28 crash. The February collision involved a vehicle that caught fire and tragically left a 62-year-old Santa Rosa man with fatal trauma. In addition to the Santa Rosa man, two others suffered non-fatal injuries.

Wrongful Death Damages

When fatal accidents are caused by the negligence of another party, those who have lost a loved one are often able to claim payments for their losses. While it is never possible to truly replace the love and care of a family member or friend, families can recover financial compensation for a wide variety of damages. These damages can include medicals bills related to the accident as well as funeral and burial costs, emotional trauma, and more. However, these claims can be complicated, and it is always best to have the advice of an experienced Fairfield wrongful death lawyer before moving forward with any legal action.
