A late-night crash sends debris onto Highway 99 in Sacramento on Thursday, February 19, 2026, and caused traffic disruptions after a vehicle went off the Martin Luther King Jr. overpass and fell onto State Route 99 in Sacramento. According to the California Highway Patrol South Sacramento office, the incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m. when the driver veered off the overpass, crashing through a fence before the vehicle dropped onto the northbound lanes.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Debris from the crash fell into the southbound lanes, where several vehicles struck the scattered materials. Fortunately, no additional injuries were reported.
