Two-Vehicle Crash on SR-99 at Bruceville Rd Offramp

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, a two-car crash on SR-99 at Bruceville Rd offramp occurred on southbound State Route 99 in Sacramento.

Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. following reports that the crash was blocking the offramp. According to authorities, the incident began when a black Ford Focus attempted to pass a Hyundai but instead rear-ended it, causing damage to the Hyundai and leaving both vehicles temporarily disabled.

Although traffic in the area was significantly slowed while crews worked to manage the scene, no injuries were immediately reported. The roadway was eventually restored to normal flow once the vehicles were moved to the shoulder. The California Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation into the crash, meticulously reviewing vehicle positions, impact points, tire marks, and damage patterns. Investigators are also analyzing witness accounts and nearby traffic camera footage to confirm the exact sequence of events and identify any additional factors that may have contributed to the collision.

Safety Reminders for Drivers

Rear-end collisions like this one are often preventable. Drivers are encouraged to:

  • Maintain a safe following distance, especially in heavy traffic
  • Stay attentive and avoid distractions while driving
  • Adjust speed to match roadway conditions
  • Use turn signals and check blind spots before passing
