Major Injuries Reported in Two-Vehicle Crash Near Highway 113 in Woodland

A major injury crash near Highway 113 in Woodland on Sunday, September 20, 2026, crash occurred at around 8:00 a.m. on the ramp connecting eastbound County Road 29 with southbound State Route 113.

Two Vehicles Involved in Woodland-Area Crash

Initial reports indicated that two vehicles collided on the ramp and that airbags deployed during the impact.

Emergency personnel, including fire crews, were dispatched to assist those involved and secure the collision scene. The incident was initially reported as a traffic collision but was later updated to indicate that major injuries had occurred.

Authorities had not released information regarding the number of people injured or the nature of their injuries.

Highway 113 Ramp Temporarily Blocked

The collision caused all lanes of the ramp to become blocked while emergency personnel assisted those involved and crews worked to remove the damaged vehicles.

Tow trucks were requested for both vehicles. As the scene was cleared, traffic access was gradually restored. At least one lane reopened during the response, and the roadway was reported fully clear shortly before 9:00 a.m.

Cause of Highway 113 Collision Under Investigation

CHP had not immediately provided details about how the two vehicles collided or what may have contributed to the crash.

The investigation may include an examination of vehicle damage, roadway evidence, witness accounts, and other available information to determine the sequence of events leading up to the collision.

Safety When Driving on Highway Ramps

Freeway entrance and exit ramps require drivers to navigate changing speeds, curves, merging traffic, and limited space. Motorists should maintain a safe following distance, watch surrounding traffic carefully, and adjust their speed before entering curves or approaching slower vehicles.

Drivers should also avoid sudden lane changes and allow enough room to respond safely when traffic conditions change unexpectedly.
