Head-On Crash Near Grenada Sends Drivers and Children to Hospital

A serious head-on crash near Grenada sends drivers and children to hospital after the collision on County Road A-12 near Ralston Road in Siskiyou County on Wednesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The incident occurred at approximately 9:25 a.m. on March 4, 2026, when multiple 911 calls were received reporting the crash. Preliminary reports indicate that a gold 2015 Ford Transit van, driven by a Siskiyou County employee, was traveling east on Co. Rd. A-12 at around 55 mph. At the same time, a blue 2022 Ford Escape, driven by a 26-year-old Montague woman, was traveling westbound.

According to witness accounts, the van abruptly swerved into the oncoming lane, resulting in a direct head-on collision with the Escape. Passersby and witnesses immediately rendered assistance to the injured at the scene.

Injuries and Response

All drivers and juvenile passengers were transported to Fairchild Medical Center. The CHP reported:

  • Both drivers sustained major injuries
  • One child suffered major injuries
  • Another child suffered minor injuries
  • A third child was uninjured

Authorities have not disclosed the exact number of children in each vehicle or whether they were traveling together.
