Crash Fatally Injures Three Near Madera County

I’m Ed Smith, a Madera car accident lawyer. A car accident involving three vehicles occurred in Madera County on the night of Saturday, November 11, 2017. The collision, sadly, claimed the lives of three parties.

We give our sincerest condolences to the loved ones of the parties that passed away in this heart-wrenching car accident.

What Happened?

A Madera man was behind the wheel of a Honda Civic traveling westbound along Highway 145 in the vicinity of Road 208 at approximately 7:48 pm. For unknown reasons, the Honda veered into the eastbound lane of travel into the direct path of oncoming traffic. The motorist of a GMC Canyon pickup truck attempted to avoid a collision with the Honda and swerved onto the shoulder. Unfortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful. The Honda struck the left side of the GMC, causing the vehicle to spin out of control. The Honda continued traveling against the flow of traffic and collided head-on with a Honda Accord that was traveling behind the GMC. The impact of the collision caused all three vehicles to sustain serious body damage.

Nature of Injuries

A 55-year-old female passenger of the GMC complained of pain but declined medical attention. A 62-year-old female passenger of the Honda Accord suffered major injuries and was transported to the Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. The 23-year-old Madera man driving the Honda Civic, the 60-year-old Firebaugh woman driving the Honda Accord and her 60-year-old male passenger all, unfortunately, suffered fatal injuries.

Identity of Victims Remain Unknown

Officials have not yet released the identities of the three parties that passed away in this accident.

What Caused the Accident?

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is the agency in charge of the accident investigation. An exact cause has not yet been substantiated by CHP. A Traffic Collision Report usually takes one to two weeks to be processed. However, officials suspect that alcohol or drugs may have played a role in the crash.

Coping with Grief after the Loss of a Loved One

Grief is a difficult process to handle. A person may experience an extensive range of emotions as they proceed through the stages of bereavement. All feelings are valid during this time as they are normal and common reactions. If you have lost someone close to you, it is important to remember how much they cared about you and how they would not want you to suffer.
