Corning Injury Crash Involves Hit-and-Run on South Avenue

Reckless driving may have caused a Corning injury crash on westbound South Avenue on November 23. The accident was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) as occurring just east of the Woodson Bridge entrance road. According to the individual who reported the accident, another driver passed and then brake-checked the vehicle in front of them.

Rear-End Collision Causes Injuries as Other Driver Flees

Because the other driver allegedly brake-checked, it caused the reporting person to rear-end the vehicle. Instead of stopping, the reckless driver continued on the roadway toward Corning. The Tehama County Fire Department arrived at the scene, where it was determined the reporting person had suffered injuries in the collision.

Investigators Trying to Locate Missing Driver

Information was not provided on whether that person was taken to a hospital or received treatment at the scene. An accident investigation is underway by CHP traffic investigators to determine what happened and to locate the missing driver.

Hit-and-Run Crashes and Locating the Driver

To investigate a Corning injury crash involving a fleeing driver, it is essential to evaluate all available evidence. An investigation involves analyzing traffic camera footage, speaking to witnesses, and reconstructing an accident. Physical evidence, such as skid marks and debris, is also examined. They need to consider whether the driver broke any traffic laws or was negligent and review all applicable laws and regulations.

An Injury Lawyer Helps You Recover Compensation

When the fleeing driver is located after a hit-and-run Corning injury crash, an injury lawyer may be able to help the injured party seek compensation. By doing so, they can assist with recovering damages from a crash, like medical bills, lost wages, and others, by negotiating with the negligent person’s insurance company.

Following a Corning injury crash, individuals who have been injured should seek legal counsel as soon as possible. Bringing a lawsuit against a liable party can be a challenging process. An experienced lawyer can guide their clients through the complicated process of protecting their legal rights, determining their options for recovering compensation and negotiating the complex legal process. Acting promptly is the key to receiving fair compensation for injured parties.

Using Your Auto Insurance for Uninsured/Underinsured Motorists

An uninsured/underinsured motorist policy can protect passengers and drivers from financial loss caused by hit-and-run drivers. A hit-and-run, underinsured or uninsured driver can cause an accident resulting in medical bills, lost wages, vehicle repair costs, etc. The injured party can recover some of those expenses using their own add-on uninsured/underinsured policy. If the injured party does not have this insurance, they can use a family member’s uninsured/underinsured coverage instead. There will be no change in their rate due to using it.
