One Killed in Tracy Car Accident
A single-vehicle crash occurred on the morning of Tuesday, August 8, 2017. The accident, unfortunately, caused one victim to suffer traumatic injuries and one victim to suffer fatal injuries.
We would like to share our thoughts of support and condolences to the loved ones of the victim that passed away in this tragic accident. We also wish for a swift and full recovery for the injured party.
What Happened?
A vehicle was traveling along Interstate 580 in the vicinity of the off-ramp for Corral Hollow Road at about 4:53 am. For unknown reasons, the car veered off the roadway and drove down an embankment along the right shoulder. This resulted in a serious car accident.
Was Anybody Injured?
Medical personnel was immediately dispatched to the scene of the single-vehicle crash. When they arrived, they discovered two injured victims. One of the victims was transported via air ambulance to a local hospital. The extent of injuries sustained and the health status of the patient has not yet been released. The other victim, unfortunately, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
What Caused the Accident?
The cause of the accident has not yet been decided. An investigation is ongoing. A Traffic Collision Report can take seven to ten business days from the date of an accident to be processed. A similar single-vehicle crash occurred near Stockton on March 11, 2017. Two senior students from McNair High School were traveling together back home to Stockton on March 11, 2017. One of the students was driving a 2014 Chevrolet on Interstate 5 south near Hammer Lane. For reasons that are not known, the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with a tree. The impact triggered the passenger side of the car to detach, causing the passenger to be ejected out of the vehicle. The driver suffered traumatic injuries and the passenger, sadly, suffered fatal injuries due to the accident.
