Things to Know About Claims for Big Rig Crashes

The forces involved in a tractor-trailer collision may potentially cause serious injury or even death to those involved. When a commercial truck accident is the result of negligence, eligible injured parties and families of lost loved ones may seek reimbursement for the damages incurred through a bodily injury or wrongful death claim. These are generally brought against insurance companies representing liable parties and entities. It is essential to note that if a settlement is not accepted within the two-year statute of limitations, the case must be filed before the deadline expires to protect the statute.

Do not accept a quick settlement offer from the insurance company representing the at-fault party. An initial settlement offer may be far less than what is needed to cover economic and non-economic damages from the big rig crash. It is impossible to know the true extent of your losses and the full value of your case without an in-depth evaluation of the matter. This is where a skilled injury attorney comes in. A skilled lawyer can go over the facts and circumstances of the case and determine what full compensation should be in your claim.

At our law firm, our California truck accident lawyers understand that claims against trucking companies are often more challenging than those involving other passenger vehicles. That is because these cases often involve more severe injuries due to the size, weight, and momentum of big rigs, more at-fault parties, additional evidence necessary to establish negligence, and complex commercial insurance policies. Therefore, it is recommended that injured parties and families of deceased loved ones retain legal counsel immediately. Learn how we can help by watching this video about our services.
