Auburn Boulevard Pedestrian Accident

I’m Ed Smith, a Citrus Heights pedestrian accident attorney. A pedestrian was walking along a popular roadway in Citrus Heights when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle on the night of Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Thankfully, the driver of the oncoming vehicle remained at the scene with the injured pedestrian.

What Happened?

A 37-year-old man was walking outside of a marked crosswalk along Auburn Boulevard shortly after 8:00 pm.  As the man was crossing the northbound lanes of this roadway, an oncoming Subaru sedan was unable to avoid the pedestrian and crashed into him. The motorist of the Subaru sedan remained at the scene until authorities arrived and was cooperative with the investigation.

Was the Pedestrian Injured?

When officers from the Citrus Heights Police Department arrived at the scene of the pedestrian accident, they found the injured pedestrian lying on the roadway. According to authorities, the pedestrian was transported to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening.

Who Caused the Pedestrian Accident?

The cause of the pedestrian accident has not been disclosed by authorities. However, it is the duty of the motorist to exercise extra precaution when traveling on the roadway with marked crosswalks for pedestrians. Any motorist that is found to violate the right-of-way for a pedestrian is considered to be a negligent driver in this type of accident.
