TRACY, CA — Authorities with the California Highway Patrol Stockton division said all eastbound lanes on Highway 120 are closed Thursday morning following a serious crash involving two big rigs in San Joaquin County.

According to CHP traffic logs, the collision was reported at about 6:50 a.m. on eastbound Highway 120 west of South Main Street. Drivers are currently being redirected to Union Road while crews respond to the scene.

A photo released by CHP shows both trucks suffered severe damage, including one big rig that appears to have lost much of its exterior in the crash.

Officials said there is still no estimated time for the highway to reopen, and motorists are being encouraged to take alternate routes if possible. At this time, the extent of any injuries and the cause of the crash remain unclear.
