Modesto Man Killed in Accident
A Modesto man was driving his vehicle near Salida during the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Sadly, the man suffered fatal injuries following an unforeseen auto accident.

What Happened?
A 23-year-old Modesto man was driving his 2007 Chevrolet northbound along Highway 99 in the vicinity of Pelandale Avenue at approximately 2:35 am. The Chevrolet was traveling in the No. 3 lane at an unknown speed when the driver reportedly allowed their vehicle to drift to the left and collide with a concrete center divider. The impact of the collision caused the vehicle to overturn and come to a rest on its roof along the dirt median. A deputy from the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department was passing by the area and stopped to render life-saving measures on the man until paramedics arrived.
Nature of Injuries
An ambulance was called to the scene for needed medical attention. Medical personnel transported the man to the Doctors Medical Center in Modesto where he later passed away due to the serious nature of his injuries.
Identity of Victim
The identity of the man has not yet been released to the public due to pending family notification.
What Caused the Accident?
The cause of the accident is not yet known as an investigation by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) is ongoing. It is unknown whether any other vehicles were involved in the accident.
