Accident Fatally Injures Modesto Woman

Modesto Woman Killed in Car Accident

A Modesto woman was a passenger in a vehicle traveling along a rural road near Tipton during the evening hours of Sunday, June 4, 2017, when the car was hit by another vehicle. Sadly, the woman suffered fatal injuries during the vehicle accident.

What Occurred

A 23-year-old Porterville man was driving his 2007 Toyota Camry traveling northbound along Road 160. The man allegedly failed to stop his vehicle as he approached a stop sign at the intersection of Road 160 and Avenue 128. The Toyota collided then with an oncoming 2000 Ford Expedition. The impact from the accident to the left side of the Expedition propelled the vehicle off the roadway, causing it to roll over and finally come to a stop in an almond orchard.

Injuries Sustained

The 34-year-old motorist of the Expedition and a 19-year-old passenger both suffered minor injuries. Sadly, the 30-year-old Modesto woman that was a passenger in the Expedition succumbed to her injuries and died shortly after.

Our condolences are with the loved ones of those affected by this tragic car accident.

What Caused the Accident?

Authorities have not yet released the cause of the car accident. Traffic Collision Reports may take from seven to ten days to be processed. The California Highway Patrol, also known as CHP, revealed in a preliminary report that impaired driving may have played as a factor in the collision. Authorities detained the man driving the Toyota Camry for suspicion of driving while impaired by drugs. Sometimes, accident reports may be in error and be inconclusive in determining fault. It is crucial to contact an experienced personal injury lawyer, when someone has lost their lives in an accident, to investigate the scene and analyze the sequence of events leading up to the collision to pinpoint liability.

Similar Accident Killing Modesto Woman

A similar accident involving impaired driving took place in Modesto on Thursday, May 25, 2017. An Oakdale man was driving his Acura SUV along Parker Road where he allowed his vehicle to enter the oncoming lane of travel and collide with a woman’s Mazda. The impact of the accident caused the woman to pass away from her injuries. CHP officers later revealed that the Oakdale man was driving while intoxicated at the time of the collision. It is very unfortunate that drunk driving accidents continue to take place in California, especially when the collision causes an innocent victim to suffer a traumatic or even fatal injury.
