Corning Fourth of July Celebrations

The City of Corning has a number of festivities planned to celebrate the Fourth of July, including barbeques and fireworks. Other areas within Tehama County are following suit.

Corning – Safe and Sane Firework Stands

There are several legal fireworks booths around Corning, sales of which benefit sports teams and other groups. They can be found at the following locations:

  • Corning Youth Football booth at 1425 Solano Street
  • Manta Ray Swim Team booth in the Safeway shopping center at 600 Edith Avenue
  • Corning Exchange Club booth at 2020 Solano Street
  • Harvest Christian Church booth at 1006 Sixth Avenue
  • New Life Assembly Church booth at 660 Solano Street

Los Molinos July Fourth Celebrations

The Los Molinos Independence Day Parade will take place on Highway 99E. It begins at 10:00 a.m. Former Tehama County Supervisor Burt Bundy and his wife, Joyce, will be the grand marshals of the parade. Following the procession, the Los Molinos Play Day in the Park will begin at Mill Creek Park. Past Play Days have included food, fun, and games – one year, there was even a large water slide.

Rancho Tehama Independence Day Celebrations

Rancho Tehama is also hosting a Fourth of July Parade, which will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Rancho Tehama Recreation Hall. The procession will march on Stagecoach Road to the fire station. At the station, there will be food and activities for everyone to enjoy.

Red Bluff Fourth of July Celebrations

The Red Bluff Chamber of Commerce is putting on a fireworks display, which will begin at 9:30 p.m. at Red Bluff River Park.

Northern California Fire Departments Issue Safety Reminders

CalFire and the local fire departments with Corning and Tehama County want to remind Northern Californians that everyone needs to do their part to keep the holiday safe. “Safe and Sane” fireworks are the only type allowed by law. The use of illegal fireworks may result in significant fines and possibly even an arrest. Not only do illegal, airborne pyrotechnics present a fire hazard, but they also result in a number of emergency room visits every year.

Firework Safety Tips from CalFire

CalFire issued the following tips for enjoying a safe fireworks celebration:

  • Do not use fireworks if they are illegal in your city or county.
  • Purchase only those fireworks with an approved seal from the California State Fire Marshal.
  • Keep a hose and a bucket of water on hand to extinguish any unexpected flames.
  • Fireworks should be used outdoors only.
  • Practice proper water disposal of used fireworks.
  • Do not try to continue to light a “dud” firework.
  • Keep a safe distance from lit fireworks – use common sense.
