STOCKTON, CA — Sadly, a man died Wednesday evening, August 12, after the Honda Civic he was driving crashed into a tree along northbound Interstate 5 south of Walnut Grove Road, according to the Stockton Police Department.

Stockton police responded to the solo-vehicle crash at approximately 6:23 p.m. For reasons that remain unclear, the Civic veered off the highway, the driver lost control, and the vehicle struck a tree on the roadside embankment.

The driver was the only person in the car and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities had not determined whether alcohol or drugs contributed to the collision.
