SONORA, CA — Two people were injured in a crash this morning during the nine o’clock hour, affecting traffic along Mono Way near the Haystack Road intersection.

According to the CHP, an 86-year-old Sonora woman was driving a Chevy sedan westbound when the vehicle left the roadway and struck an embankment, then continued on and hit a guardrail.

Mono Way was temporarily blocked in both directions while crews worked to clear the scene, but traffic is now flowing normally.

The woman and her passenger, a 66-year-old man, were taken to Adventist Health Sonora for care. Thankfully, their injuries are reported to be minor, and they are receiving the attention they need.
