MODESTO, CA — The Modesto community is mourning the loss of a driver who passed away a week after a serious two-vehicle collision.

The Modesto Police Department reported that the crash occurred around 8 a.m. on October 25 at the intersection of Pelandale Avenue and Prescott Road. Officers say a Honda Accord heading north on Prescott collided with a Nissan Cube traveling east on Pelandale.

The driver of the Nissan was ejected from their vehicle and rushed to a nearby hospital with critical injuries. Despite dedicated medical efforts, Modesto police shared on November 2 that the driver had sadly passed away.

The driver of the Honda sustained only minor injuries in the incident.

Authorities noted that neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to have contributed to the crash. Our hearts go out to the victim’s loved ones during this heartbreaking time.
