Tragedy struck early Thursday morning, July 17, 2025, when a motorcyclist killed on Highway 99 in Sacramento, lost their life in a crash on northbound Hwy 99, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision occurred around 1:00 a.m. just south of 12th Avenue.

Preliminary reports indicate that the motorcycle rider lost control and struck the rear of another vehicle. Sadly, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries at the scene. No additional injuries were reported, and CHP confirmed that drugs or alcohol are not suspected as contributing factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
