Three Dead and Infant Injured in Highway 70 Collision
Tragedy Strikes in Marysville: Three Dead and Infant Injured in Highway 70 Collision
Three dead and infant injured in Highway 70 collision after a devastating head-on collision in Marysville on Saturday afternoon, June 14, 2025. Around 2:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash involving a truck and a sedan at East 24th Street and Laurellen Road on Highway 70. The collision forced a full road closure for several hours.
The truck driver was airlifted to Sutter-Roseville Hospital. The sedan, tragically, had five occupants. Three individuals were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others—one being an infant—were transported to a local hospital. The infant’s condition remains unclear, and the other survivor reportedly suffered severe injuries. Authorities have not yet released the identities of those who passed away. Speed is being investigated as a contributing factor in this heartbreaking crash.
Why Following the Speed Limit Saves Lives
Speed limits are essential regulations, established based on various factors such as road conditions, traffic behaviors, and safety research, all aimed at ensuring the safety of everyone traveling on the road. Driving too fast reduces your ability to react in time to unexpected hazards, increases the severity of crashes, and puts the lives of innocent passengers, pedestrians, and other drivers at serious risk. Tragically, preventable accidents caused by speeding continue to devastate families and communities. Slowing down and respecting speed limits could be the difference between life and death.
