Tuolumne County Crash Injures Manteca Man
I’m Ed Smith, a Manteca personal injury lawyer. A Manteca man was driving in Tuolumne County during the afternoon hours of Tuesday, April 25, 2017. The man turned onto Highway 120 when he was struck by an oncoming vehicle. The man and the motorist in the other vehicle both suffered traumatic injuries due to the accident.
What Happened?
A Manteca man was traveling in his 2000 Ford Ranger along Highway 49 in the vicinity of Highway 120 at approximately 3:00pm. The man came to a stop along the roadway and turned onto Highway 120. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the man failed to yield to a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound. The Jeep, driven by a Groveland woman, was unable to avoid the vehicle and collided with the Ford. CHP reports concluded that the woman driving the Jeep was unable to avoid the Ford due to the excessive rate of speed traveled by her vehicle.
Were They Okay?
The man driving the 2000 Ford Ranger was identified as 28-year-old Ryan Silveira from Manteca. The woman driving the 1999 Jeep Cherokee was identified as 44-year-old Jamy Gray from Groveland. Silveira and Groveland both suffered major injuries as a result of the collision. The two drivers were transported via air ambulance to hospitals in Modesto.
