Accident at Sierra College Boulevard Involves Three Vehicles
A rollover accident occurred southeast of Lincoln on February 20 when three vehicles collided at a local intersection. The crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Sierra College Boulevard and Twelve Bridges Drive. The accident report issued by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said that the three-vehicle crash blocked the roadway and involved an older Honda, Toyota Prius, and another sedan.
One Patient Transported to Hospital After Three-Vehicle Crash
The Honda was found to have experienced a rollover and was turned over on its roof off the roadway. Medics arrived at the scene and determined that at least one person suffered minor injuries in the crash. One patient was taken by AMR medical transportation to a hospital for additional evaluation and treatment. The CHP is conducting an investigation into the cause of the accident and determining fault.
The Dangers of a Rollover
A rollover accident ranks among the most dangerous. One reason for this is that although airbags are deployed initially, they soon deflate and do not provide additional protection. In addition, people inside the vehicle are tossed around and may even be ejected, which is often fatal. Seat belts are another potential problem. When the vehicle’s roof caves in, it decreases the occupant’s survivability space and can lead to spinal cord damage, head trauma, and other serious injuries.

Roof crush may cause fatal injuries or severe trauma to the occupants of the vehicle during a rollover, so it is important to retain the car or light truck. In this way, engineers can inspect a vehicle to determine if the rollover accident could have been caused by a defective part or roof crush.
