Patterson Man Killed in Stanislaus County Crash

Details on the Stanislaus County Crash That Left a Man Killed, Woman Injured

A release by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) revealed that a man was driving a 2006 Honda Civic northbound on Crows Landing Road. At the same time, a 2014 Land Rover Range Rover was driven by a 26-year-old Atwater woman traveling southbound on Crows Landing Road.

An uninvolved driver traveling ahead of one of the vehicles claimed they had seen that car veer into the oncoming traffic lane. The driver approaching in the opposite direction was unable to avoid a crash, and the Honda and Land Rover collided head-on, CHP traffic investigators said.

The Land Rover driver was transported to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto for treatment of serious injuries. First responders performed life-saving measures on the Honda driver. He was also taken to Doctors Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials have recently identified the decedent as 64-year-old Homero Sanchez of Patterson.

Loss of a Loved One

Losing a family member in a catastrophic accident is always challenging, but especially difficult when the incident could have been prevented. When a close relative’s death has resulted from another party or entity’s negligence, surviving family members may be entitled to compensation for financial and intangible losses through a wrongful death claim. Such cases are brought against insurance companies after fatal events such as motor vehicle crashes.

No amount of money may bring back a lost close relative. However, compensation recovered from the at-fault party may address some of the lasting consequences of the unexpected loss. This may include end-of-life medical expenses, lost future financial support, funeral costs, loss of companionship, and other outstanding bills or intangible losses.

In such difficult times, retaining legal representation is essential for the recovery of economic and non-economic damages from negligent parties. Survivors will need a Patterson wrongful death lawyer who can represent them with skill and compassion. For information on how to find the best attorney, watch this video.
