West Sacramento Two-Vehicle Crash Causes Minor Injuries

Injuries Reported in U.S. 50 Accident Near Harbor Boulevard

Minor injuries were reported in a September 29 two-vehicle crash in West Sacramento. The accident happened along westbound U.S. 50 just west of the Harbor Boulevard on-ramp around 9:31 a.m. It was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) that the accident involved two SUVs and blocked the number one and two lanes.

Authorities Investigating Two-Vehicle Crash to Determine Fault

The lanes were reopened at about 10:00 a.m. Minor injuries occurred; however, it is unknown whether the injured were treated at the scene or taken to a hospital for additional evaluation. The accident is being investigated by the CHP to determine fault and find out how it occurred.

Minor Injuries Sometimes Turn Into Major Trauma

Delayed symptoms are common in a two-vehicle crash or another type of accident. Because the bodies of those involved in the collision are initially flooded with adrenaline, which is the fight or flight hormone, they don’t necessarily feel any pain. However, days or weeks later, symptoms can appear and worsen. Some of them can indicate a serious problem that requires fast medical attention, such as traumatic brain injuries, herniated discs, organ damage or internal bleeding.

How Can I Protect My Injury Claim After a Two-Vehicle Crash?

Even if you believe you weren’t injured in a two-vehicle crash, you should get checked out medically right away. This allows a doctor to spot any potential problems and establishes that you were involved in an accident. Otherwise, the insurance company of the at-fault party may try to say you were injured in some other way or your trauma was due to a previous condition.

How an Accident Attorney Helps Clients to Recover Compensation

An accident attorney’s job is to help people who have been injured by another’s negligent actions obtain the compensation they deserve. First of all, they can investigate your case to gather the evidence needed to support your injury claim. In addition, they can gather the documents and evidence that shows the at-fault person not only injured you but you suffered a financial loss because of it.

Your Accident Lawyer Can Calculate What You May Receive in Compensation

The lawyer can then accumulate all of your medical bills associated with your accident. If your injury is expected to continue into the future, he/she can calculate what that will cost and add it to your compensation claim. The same is done with your lost wages because you were unable to work. Lost wages also includes any bonuses you would have earned as well as pension and insurance benefits and other items. Finally, the lawyer will use experts to calculate what you should expect to receive for your pain and suffering.
