Accident Near Vacaville Premium Outlets Injures Motorcyclist

A traffic accident in Vacaville on July 16 shut down Nut Tree Parkway following a collision involving a motorcyclist who was seriously injured. The accident occurred near Vacaville Premium Outlets at the Nut Tree Road intersection with Nut Tree Parkway in the afternoon, according to an incident report by the Vacaville Police Department

Nut Tree Road Closed Down for Police Investigation of Traffic Accident

According to the police department’s Facebook post, traffic going eastbound was expected to remain closed for a considerable amount of time while an investigation was conducted into the cause of the crash. No update has yet been provided on the condition of the injured rider. Vacaville police warned motorists to drive safely and keep a lookout for motorcycles.

Why Is a Traffic Accident Involving a Motorcyclist So Common?

Drivers of motor vehicles look around when driving to see where other motorists are. However, they don’t tend to look for motorcyclists, pedestrians and others. This is nothing more than conditioning. Drivers need to be alert to everyone else sharing the roadway to avoid accidents, especially to motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians because of their great vulnerability to severe injuries in a collision.

Prejudice Against Motorcyclists

Motorcycle riders often face undeserved prejudices both from insurance companies and juries. This is why it is important to enlist the help of an injury lawyer who has successfully handled many cases involving motorcyclists and who knows how to counter these prejudices. Over the years, we have handled so many of these cases, I wrote the California Motorcycle Accident Handbook, which addresses many of the questions we are asked following a traffic accident. You are welcome to read it on our website, or you can read it on Amazon for free.

How We Can Help

By pursuing a personal injury claim against the driver who caused your traffic accident injuries, you can recover the compensation you deserve, including the following:

  • Medical expenses: Motorcyclist injuries caused by others’ negligence may result in the rider recovering all their medical costs. An ambulance, hospitalization, surgery, tests, medication and physical therapy are among the costs associated with these expenses. Including future medical costs in the settlement is possible if the trauma is ongoing.
  • Lost wages: When you have suffered a motorcycle injury, you are likely to worry about lost wages. This is a scary position, especially if you provide income for the household. Including any pension/insurance benefits, the rider can recover all wages lost as a result of the motorcyclist’s injury. When they return to work, if they need to take a job that pays less, the difference in salaries is recovered. Riders who suffer permanent injuries and cannot work can recover their salaries until retirement age.
  • Pain and suffering: Motorcycle accidents often result in severe physical pain for the rider, which can be compensated. However, psychological and emotional pain also occurs when injured parties relive the accident in their dreams, develop anxiety, depression and other symptoms difficult to deal with following the crash. Compensation can be recovered for that as well.
