Investigation Into Two-Vehicle North Highlands Crash Ongoing

A witness said one car swerved suddenly, leading to the collision. According to fire officials, the poor weather conditions do not appear to factor into the cause of the crash, but alcohol consumption might have occurred. The accident is under investigation to determine the cause.

Cause of a Car Suddenly Swerving Into Another Lane

Common reasons for a car swerving unexpectedly into another lane, causing a two-vehicle North Highlands crash, include the following:

  • Using a mobile phone or adjusting the car’s entertainment or navigation systems can lead to a collision.
  • Intoxication from alcohol or drugs can impair a driver’s judgment and reaction time, causing them to lose control.
  • Overcorrecting in response to an obstacle, a sudden change in traffic patterns, or avoiding a collision can also lead to swerving.
  • Poor road conditions, such as ice, water, or debris, can cause a vehicle to lose traction and unintentionally drift into an adjacent lane.

How an Injury Lawyer Proves Liability in a Car Accident

An injury lawyer aims to establish liability in a two-vehicle North Highlands crash by gathering and presenting evidence demonstrating the other party’s negligence. This process often involves collecting traffic surveillance footage, witness statements, and police reports. A consultation with an accident reconstruction specialist provides insight into the events leading to the crash.

Additionally, the lawyer will review medical records and expert testimony to establish a direct link between the accident and the client’s injuries. By meticulously building a case supported by facts and expert opinions, the attorney seeks to prove that the at-fault party breached their duty of care and should be held responsible for any damages incurred.
