Two Seriously Hurt During Fiery Davis Auto Accident

Two Seriously Injured During Fiery Davis Auto Accident

On Saturday, January 16, 2021, two people sustained serious injuries in a Davis auto accident. The collision happened in the afternoon and involved one vehicle. Both occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized, and updates on their health have not been reported. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has stated that their officers are investigating possible causes of the crash.

Collision Details

Police said that the accident happened at around 12:43 p.m. on Pole Line Road close to the northern city limit of Davis. According to reports, a black BMW was driving south on Pole Line close to the intersection of County Road 29 when, for reasons under investigation, the driver apparently lost control of his car. The BMW subsequently veered off-road and crashed head-on into a nearby utility pole. As a result of the crash, the BMW caught fire and the flames eventually consumed the entire vehicle.

Response

Witnesses of the incident indicated that several passerbys pulled over to help. Good Samaritans reportedly pulled the BMW occupants out of the wrecked vehicle while beating back the fire, most likely saving the two men’s lives.

When emergency medical personnel arrived on-scene, they found that both the driver and passenger had sustained serious trauma. The driver, identified as a 25-year-old Citrus Heights resident, and the passenger, a 25-year-old man from Rocklin, were both driven to the UC Davis Medical Center.

Burn Injuries

Burn injuries cause massive damage to tissue, meaning that these kinds of injuries can be very difficult to recover from. In many cases, survivors of burn injuries require a lot of medical care, often including multiple reconstructive surgeries. In order to regain mobility, burn survivors may need to undergo an extended period of physical therapy. While there are many treatment and therapy options for burn injuries, survivors typically face serious emotional and physical challenges on the road to regaining their health.

Calling an Injury Attorney

All of the necessary treatment for burn injuries can be very expensive and affording medical bills can be even more difficult if your injury has left you unable to work. For these reasons, crash survivors are often worried about how they’ll be able to move on with their lives.

Fortunately, many people who’ve been seriously injured in auto accidents are able to obtain payments to cover these losses and more. This is possible through filing a personal injury claim, which seeks to hold insurers and at-fault parties financially responsible for accidents.
