Sacramento Truck Accident Injures Two
A Sacramento truck accident involving a big rig and several vehicles caused serious injuries on July 17, shortly before 3:30 in the afternoon. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), the collision occurred along northbound State Route 51 at the Watt Avenue off-ramp just south of Fulton Avenue. The crash resulted in a vehicle rollover and an override accident. Several parties injured in the Sacramento truck accident were transported to UC Davis Medical Center.
Accident Details
According to police, the accident caused a Honda Accord to roll over, leaving a young child trapped in the overturned vehicle. Emergency responders were sent to extricate the child from the Honda. The truck ran over another sedan, and police discovered the vehicle trapped underneath the tractor-trailer. The big rig, which weighed about 37,000 pounds, broke its front axle in the accident, so a heavy-duty tow truck was summoned to remove it from the scene of the Sacramento truck accident. The freeway service patrol reported that the overturned Honda was up against the wall in the center divide. Multiple people were out of their vehicles and in the roadway. A SigAlert was issued due to the congested and blocked traffic in the area.
