Alta Arden Expressway Accident Involves Hit-and-Run Driver

A Sacramento hit-and-run causing injuries occurred in Sacramento on February 26. The crash involved a white sedan and a Toyota, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The accident occurred around 8:32 p.m. at the intersection of Alta Arden Expressway and Wright Street, blocking the westbound slow lane.

Injuries Reported in Hit-and-Run Crash

The Toyota crashed into an apartment gate as a result of the impact of the crash. Both vehicles were towed. No information was provided on whether those who were injured received medical treatment at the accident scene or were transported to a hospital. The CHP is investigating the accident to find out how it happened.

Traffic Accident Injuries

The consequences of a collision can be severe, including head trauma, broken bones, internal damage and lacerations. Aside from physical injuries, they may suffer emotional and psychological traumas that require professional care.

Causes of Hit-and-Run Accidents on Highways

Drivers may be responsible for accidents when they fail to obey traffic laws, speed, drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs or fail to yield the right-of-way. Drivers fleeing accidents are also more likely to be distracted by their cell phones or other electronic devices.

Unpaid tickets, illegal substances in the vehicle and no insurance can also cause a driver to flee an accident scene. A driver may flee the scene in a panic if he or she does not consider the repercussions of their actions before attempting to leave. The police typically have difficulty investigating and prosecuting a fleeing driver when no witnesses see the accident.

Lawyers’ Methods for Locating Fleeing Drivers

Attorneys can investigate to identify and locate a hit-and-run driver and are successful in a number of cases. Interviewing witnesses, conducting accident scene research and checking nearby surveillance cameras are some of the ways to gather evidence. A lawyer can begin investigating a driver’s whereabouts once he or she gathers information about them and create a profile of the fleeing individual. Further, the police report issued after the collision is evaluated for accuracy to prevent errors from adversely affecting the injured party’s claim for damages.

Our accident attorneys build a strong case for our clients’ compensation claims after collecting all the evidence and locating the driver. The client can then recover maximum damages for their medical bills, lost wages and pain and suffering due to their inability to work.

Insurance Coverage for Uninsured/Underinsured Auto Accidents

Getting into an accident in California can leave you with financial strain if you don’t have the right insurance. Auto accident insurance that covers uninsured/underinsured drivers is essential to those whose insurance doesn’t cover medical bills and other expenses. If the other driver can’t be found or doesn’t have enough or any insurance, you are covered for some of the expenses related to a car accident.
