Fatal Intersection Crash Occurs on Hazel Avenue

An intersection crash in Orangevale recently led to the death of a motorcycle rider. Two motor vehicles were also involved in the accident. The accident happened at the Hazel Avenue intersection with Central Avenue and was reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP)

Two Motorists Injured in Intersection Crash That Kills Motorcyclist

The individual riding the motorcycle was declared dead at the accident scene. Officials have recently identified the decedent as 49-year-old West Sacramento resident Larry Douglas Aebersold. A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Aebersold family to assist with final resting costs.

Of the two other motorists involved, one suffered major injuries and was transported to a hospital, while the other driver sustained minor trauma. An investigation by the CHP traffic crash unit is determining how the fatal accident occurred and will be assigning fault.

Injuries and Fatalities in Accidents May Result in Compensation

When you have suffered an injury or your loved one has died in an accident that was caused by a negligent driver or other entity, it may be possible for the injured person or surviving family to recover compensation. By doing so, the injured person or family can help avoid the financial stress an accident can cause and receive justice for what happened.

Bringing a Personal Injury or Wrongful Death Claim

In most cases, injuries or fatalities are handled by the insurance company of the liable party/parties. The event that caused the intersection crash must be proven by the other party as negligence in order to file a personal injury lawsuit. Your lawyer can compile this evidence to build a strong case that supports your claim.

Evidence supporting a wrongful death or personal injury claim following a serious intersection crash can also include witness testimony, accident reconstruction and surveillance camera footage. The car accident must also be proven to have caused financial losses, such as lost wages and medical bills.

Personal Injury Settlements

Personal injury settlement amounts vary depending on the individual case, and an experienced attorney can provide a better assessment of what kind of compensation you may be entitled to. Compensation is meant to help cover the costs associated with:

  • Medical bills
  • Lost wages
  • Pain and suffering
  • Emotional distress

Wrongful Death Claims

A wrongful death claim is similar to those for personal injuries. However, the family members (spouse and children) or estate administrator files. They often include as compensation:

  • Funeral/burial expenses
  • Wages the decedent would have earned until retirement
  • Pension and insurance benefits if applicable
  • Emotional suffering and loss by the spouse and children
