One Killed After Tractor Accident in Madera County

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reported that one person was killed after a tractor accident in Madera County on the morning of June 2, 2020. The crash involved two vehicles and was reported shortly after 5:15 a.m. in the area of Road 13 and Avenue 18 ½, just west of Madera, CA. The CHP said a driver of a car was involved in a traffic accident with a tractor hauling farming equipment. The driver of the tractor survived the crash. However, it is unknown whether they were injured. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle passed away at the scene. Their name has been withheld by officials as they work to notify their family members.

Consequences of a Tractor Accident

Even if you feel safe when driving on a rural road, there is no guarantee that an accident can happen unexpectedly. Determining Liability in a Madera County Tractor Accident

After an investigation of a tractor accident, you will need to determine who was responsible for your loved one’s death. While many may assume the driver of the vehicle involved was at fault, that is not always the case. Others may be liable for a farming accident, including the farmworker, tractor manufacturer, and the owner of the farm. Manufacturing companies that sell parts for tractors may produce an unsafe product that may cause the farmworker to lose control and cause a collision while they are driving. Farm owners are expected to inspect their farming equipment and ensure that they are putting safe tractors on the road while traveling between farms. Failing to perform regular inspections or knowingly sending out a tractor that has underlying issues may put the farmworker and others on the road at risk of injury or death. If a defective tractor or failure of farming equipment safety inspections is the reason why the fatal farm accident happened, then your Madera wrongful death lawyer will do everything in their power to hold the at-fault party financially accountable for your damages.
