Alleged Paradise DUI Injures One

On Saturday, March 21, 2020, an Alleged Paradise DUI left one person with injuries. According to the Paradise Police Department (PPD), the crash happened on a municipal road in the early evening. The incident reportedly involved two vehicles. Additionally, specific details about the injuries sustained during the crash were unavailable. However, police indicated that the injured party was not in critical condition.

Crash Information

The accident happened on Clark Road to the north of Pearson Road in Paradise at around 5:27 p.m. Officers indicated that a red Chevy van driven by a 59-year-old Paradise man collided with the rear-end of a white Ram truck, causing significant damage and sending both vehicles off the road.

Response and Arrest

PPD dispatched a response team to the accident site directly after being notified about the incident. Responders reported that the Ram driver suffered injuries during the crash. Whether or not the man was hospitalized was not reported.

Police indicated that the Chevy driver was arrested at the scene of the accident on a felony DUI charge. At the time of reporting, the man was in the custody of the Butte County Jail.

Accident Injuries

People injured in vehicle accidents can face a variety of difficult challenges. Even a relatively minor injury can affect your life by making it difficult to do your job or participate in activities you care about. These issues can cause a serious loss of income as well as increased stress. In more severe cases, accident injuries can mean facing a long process of recovery that includes multiple medical procedures as well as hospital stays, long-term therapy, and medication use.

Altogether, this can lead to a very hard financial situation for people who’ve suffered accident injuries. However, it’s often possible to claim compensation for these losses by filing injury claims. With the help of a Paradise personal injury lawyer, many crash survivors can obtain payments for their medical bills as well as lost wages and other damages.

However, every case is different, and it is always important to have professional advice before taking any action. Furthermore, most injury attorneys are happy to offer you advice for free over the phone, so there isn’t a downside to reaching out for help from an experienced professional.

DUI and Liability

Driving a vehicle under the influence of an intoxicating substance dramatically increases the chance that you will be involved in a traumatic vehicle accident. Because DUI drivers knowingly take this risk, they are almost always considered at-fault in the event of an accident. In most cases, this means that injured parties are able to hold the DUI driver and/or their insurance company financially responsible for damages suffered as a result of the collision.
