What Is Off the Grid?

Off the Grid is a food truck catering event that brings together members of the local community to enjoy various types of cuisines. Off the Grid initiated in June of 2010 by working together with street food merchants to create a community event to enjoy with friends and family. The Off the Grid events have become widespread in the Bay area and are becoming a popular cultural experience for food junkies.

Off the Grid Food Trucks Serve Bay Area and Sacramento

Off the Grid food trucks serve guests from 50 different public markets in the Sacramento and Bay areas. Off the Grid will be operating in the East Contra Costa County every Friday starting August 26, 2016. According to the Off the Grid market director, Sinead Kennedy, residents of Pittsburg have been earnestly requesting Off the Grid to serve those in the East Bay. Kennedy also stated that markets that cater lunch and dinner such as the one starting in Pittsburg will attract 1,000 to 3,000 guests on a regular basis. If you do not reside in the Pittsburg area, Off the Grid also serves attendees at public markets on Monday nights at Todos Santos Plaza in Concord, Tuesdays in downtown Walnut Creek, and Wednesday nights in Pleasant Hill.

What Types of Food Will Be Served?

The markets for Off the Grid will be serving American, Asian, Californian, Caribbean, Filipino, Indian, Italian, Korean, Japanese, Latin, Malaysian, Mexican, Persian, Salvadoran, and Southern cuisines. Vendors will also be serving barbecue, coffee, crepes, kettle corn, sandwiches, seafood, shakes, tea, wine, and wings. All visitors are encouraged to come with an open mind to try out new and exotic cuisines served by Off the Grid.
