The CDC reported 4.5 million people in the U.S. were bitten by dogs last year.  Most dog attacks happen to children, the elderly and postal workers.

The American Veterinary Medical Association is sponsoring National Dog Bite Prevention Week to help stop dog bites by educating the public about dog behavior and pet ownership.

Educate yourself and loved ones by listening to the following pod casts and videos:

Dr. Ilana Reisner, a board-certified veterinary behaviorist discusses dog bite prevention in a pod cast here.

Victoria Stilwell, dog trainer and host of Animal Planet discusses canine behavior, and what dog owners can do to prevent their dogs from biting in a pod cast here.

Educate your children by watching “Jimmy the Dog” videos here.
