Multiple Crashes Reported on Highway 99 in Atwater
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) responded to multiple crashes reported on Highway 99 in the Atwater area on Monday, June 22, 2020. CHP officers initially responded to a report of a big rig that overturned on State Route 99 shortly after 12:00 p.m. near Applegate Road. According to the CHP, the trailer of the truck veered off the roadway. It did not block any lanes of the highway. However, traffic in the area was affected as a result of the first accident and caused a second crash involving three vehicles, the CHP said. Minor injuries were reported in the secondary car accident. However, the number of parties injured in the crash was not immediately released by officials.
