Major Single Car Crash Near Lodi

What Happened?
A male driver received a severe injury when his car went off the road, struck a power pole and overturned.
Where Did the Accident Happen?
The car crashed along Clements Road, just east of Lodi, on Friday, April 29, 2016.
How Did the Accident Happen?
Around 1:40 p.m., the solo driver was headed down Clements Road in the southbound lane of travel. About one half-mile north of Brandt Road, his tire tread fell off the car, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).
The motorist lost control of his tan sport utility vehicle, went off road, sheared through a utility pole and flipped over. His vehicle then came to a rest on its side.
What Type of Injuries?
The man suffered severe head trauma as a result of the collision. He is currently hospitalized.
Was Anyone Else Injured?
No. A minor power outage occurred while workers repaired fallen power lines.
What Caused the Accident?
No word as to the cause has been released. A preliminary investigation indicated no signs of alcohol or drugs involved.
It usually takes a couple of weeks for a traffic collision report to be prepared by the California Highway Patrol. It can take even longer when serious injuries are involved.
Occasionally, in a rollover accident the roof of the vehicle caves in seriously injuring the occupants inside. Manufacturers of these automobiles can be liable in roof crush injuries and fatalities.
