Fiery Napa Pickup Truck Crash Injures One

On Monday, October 14, 2019, one person was seriously injured during a local fiery pickup truck crash. The accident involved a single vehicle and Napa Fire Department officials indicated that the collision caused the vehicle to catch fire. The driver of the vehicle received major trauma during the incident, and updates on his condition have not been made available so far. California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports that their officers are handling the investigation into possible causes of the collision.

Accident Information

CHP stated that the accident took place at about 11:00 a.m. A man driving a pickup truck with an attached dual-axel trailer was heading south on Highway 29. The truck had just passed the Imola Avenue exit when the driver apparently lost control. After the driver lost control of the pickup, it veered off the highway and traveled a short distance south before striking a tree. Reports indicated that the vehicle immediately caught fire following the collision.

Bystanders at the accident scene rushed to the wreck to assist the driver and attempt to put out the fire. Officials indicated that the fire had engulfed the entire vehicle by the time firefighters arrived. However, responders were able to put the fire out soon after reaching the crash scene. The driver was found to have sustained major injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to the Queen of the Valley Hospital.

Investigation

Traffic on the highway was reduced to one lane for around thirty minutes while firefighters worked to keep the area safe and was kept closed for a short time while police conducted initial investigations of the scene. Investigators say that they are currently unsure of what caused the driver of the pickup truck to lose control of his vehicle.

In many single-vehicle accidents like this one, the collision is caused by a factor that the involved driver can’t control. In many cases, a vehicle part malfunctions and causes the driver to be unable to avoid a crash. In other cases, hazards in the road or other drivers can force a vehicle into a dangerous situation.

What Should I Do After an Accident?

After you’ve been in an accident, it is important to focus on recovering your health. Collision injuries, especially those involving serious burns, can often require multiple medical procedures as well as a prolonged period of physical therapy in order for survivors to recover. While these things are often necessary, many people are worried about how they will be able to afford them, especially if being injured has caused them a loss of income.

These concerns can feel overwhelming, but crash survivors often have options for claiming compensation through personal injury claims. This is why it is critical to contact a personal injury lawyer right away after being injured in a crash. An experienced attorney can give you the information you need to begin the process of claiming the money you deserve for your damages.
