Man in Fatal Motorcycle Accident Identified

A man from El Dorado County was missing for over a week before he was found on Tuesday, May 28, 2019. Tragically, he was discovered along with his wrecked motorcycle near a Sonoma County highway after suffering fatal injuries during an auto accident. Officials of Sonoma County identified the decedent as Jason Roseveare, a 40-year-old resident of the small town of El Dorado. I would like to extend my sympathies to those who have lost a loved one because of this tragic accident.

Crash Information

Officials say that they are unsure when the accident took place, but Roseveare’s family had been searching for him for over 10 days. Roseveare was eventually found by Caltrans workers at about 8:30 a.m. off of the northbound shoulder of Lakeville Highway around five miles outside of the city of Petaluma. Roseveare and his motorcycle were reportedly hidden by tall reeds in the area.

Police who conducted investigations of the collision site reported that evidence suggests Roseveare had been traveling north on the highway before the accident took place. For unknown reasons, his motorcycle drove off of the road and struck a nearby fence before coming to a rest in the roadside vegetation. Investigators stated that they do not believe other vehicles were involved in the accident. However, the causal factors of the collision remain unclear.

Lt. Miller of the California Highway Patrol (CHP) has asked for anyone who may have seen the accident to contact CHP’s Petaluma office by dialing (707) 781-1208.

A Life Remembered

Jason Roseveare is survived by his ex-wife, daughter, three sons, grandchild, and parents, all residents of El Dorado County. Sarah Roseveare, Jason’s ex-wife, told reporters that Jason will be remembered as a “wonderful father” and loved to go on outdoor excursions with his family. Mr. Roseveare was also a long-time community member and attended high school at Ponderosa High in Shingle Springs. Sarah Roseveare noted that Jason “had friends everywhere he went” and that “everybody loved him.”

Contacting a Lawyer

The period of time directly after a fatal accident can be very difficult for families. Grieving over the sudden loss of a loved one can involve dealing with overwhelming emotions, and many people need to take time away from their everyday lives in order to focus on coping with their loss. While taking time to yourself and being with family is important, reaching out to a lawyer as soon as possible can be a critical part of recovering the compensation you deserve for your losses.

Many people are unsure of whether or not their case merits pursuing a wrongful death claim. However, even if you are unsure of whether or not you need a lawyer, it is important to speak with an experienced wrongful death attorney in order to know what options are available to you.
