Hit and Run Accident at Sacramento Intersection

A hit and run accident that resulted in injuries occurred at the intersection of Greenback Lane and Garfield Avenue on November 26 at approximately 5:33 p.m. A witness who called the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to report it also followed the hit and run driver to a Safeway parking lot where both vehicles stopped. Paramedics with the Sacramento Fire Department were also called to the scene to administer aid to the injured party. CHP is currently investigating the accident to determine why and how it happened. At the time of this report, authorities have not said whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the hit and run accident near Starbucks in the Foothill Farms area.

Although the vehicles were blocking the center lane following the collision, one of the drivers decided to flee the accident scene. Emergency responders were asked by the CHP to expedite their arrival to the site to assess injuries sustained in the remaining vehicle. The accident happened along Scott Road, two miles north of the Boys Ranch, a few minutes before 8:00 in the evening, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The collision occurred between a BMW and Toyota 4Runner. It was the wife of the injured man who called in to report the accident. She said her husband was involved and that her son was also in the vehicle. The driver who allegedly caused the collision said that he was traveling north along Scott Road and didn’t know about the curves in the road when the head-on collision occurred. The CHP is charged with investigating the accident to determine how it happened.

On November 8, a two-vehicle crash occurred along Stockton Boulevard in the Florin area of Sacramento, which sent one person to the hospital with injuries. The accident occurred just north of 65th Street at the entrance of Pacific Plaza around 4:17 in the afternoon and involved a BMW and Toyota Camry, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The person injured in the crash was transported by emergency responders with the Sacramento Fire Department to UC Davis Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation. The crash is being investigated by the CHP to determine fault.

On November 3, a hit and run accident caused injuries to the occupant of a vehicle along Gerber Road in the Florin area of Sacramento. The accident happened just after 4:00 in the afternoon at the Gerber Road intersection with Power Inn Road, according to a report by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). The individual who reported the accident said they stopped to assist a person in a Kia Optima, who had been injured in the crash. Emergency responders arrived to assess the injured individual, and a tow truck was called to remove the vehicle. A felony hit and run in the incident was reported. The CHP is handling the investigation into the crash.

Sacramento Rear-End Accident Leads to Injuries

A rear-end accident in Sacramento on October 26 at about 7:06 in the evening sent one person to the hospital. It occurred on northbound Highway 99 slightly north of 12th Street. Debris was scattered across several lanes due to the crash. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), crews were on site and tasked with removing the debris. However, the 4th and 5th lanes were moving slowly as traffic was directed away from the rear-end accident. One individual suffered what was described as moderate injuries and transported to a local hospital. There is no word at the time of this report what caused the accident and whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

Tracy Woman Killed in Mountain House Car Accident

An 83-year-old Tracy woman was killed in a Mountain House car accident on the night of August 21, 2019. The collision occurred around 7:00 p.m. on Grant Line Road at Great Valley Parkway. A spokesman for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) said the front of the Mercedes-Benz collided with the front driver’s side of the Toyota. The driver of the Mercedes-Benz was transported to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Sadly, the Toyota driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the decedent has not yet been released due to pending notification of her family members.

Drowsy Driving Reported in Riverbank Car Accident

Drowsy driving was reported to be a possible factor in a Riverbank car accident that occurred on the morning of August 6, 2019. The three-car crash occurred around 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of Claribel Road and Albers Road, just east of Riverbank. It involved a white Ford sedan, a silver Ford SUV, and a red Dodge Nitro SUV. The Ford sedan was stopped at a red light at the intersection with the Dodge stopped behind it. The driver of the Ford SUV was approaching the two vehicles from behind and reportedly rear-ended the Dodge as the traffic light turned green. The impact propelled the Dodge into the Ford sedan, causing the Dodge to overturn and land on its roof. Fatigue was believed to be a factor in the crash, based on the statement provided to officials by the Ford SUV driver. Information on the number of people injured and their conditions was not immediately available.

Despite evidence to the contrary, Ford has defended its position on the car’s safety and continued selling the cars without major changes, leading to numerous complaints and lawsuits.
