Orangevale Road Debris Accident 

On February 23, an Orangevale road debris accident occurred when the vehicle’s operator crashed into an obstruction along Hazel and Leue avenues between Oak and Central. The nature of the obstruction has not yet been disclosed by authorities. The vehicle was identified shortly afterward as a Ford Windstar, according to a report made by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). No information was released identifying the driver or extent of injuries. The accident happened at around 8:22 in the evening. The Sacramento Fire Department responded as an absorbent was needed at J and 2nd Street to deal with a roadway slick. An ambulance was summoned for a person injured in the Orangevale road debris accident.

Rio Linda Multiple Vehicle Accident

A Rio Linda multiple vehicle accident occurred on February 22 shortly before 6:00 p.m. The accident, which involved four vehicles, happened at Rio Linda Boulevard and Marysville Boulevard. It involved a white minivan, a black sedan, and two additional vehicles. The head-on collision resulted in at least two rollovers as a result of the crash, and one vehicle ended up in a ditch. Both the northbound and southbound lanes were blocked. An ambulance was called due to injuries that have not yet been disclosed. Highway 99 Sees Drastic Increase in Accidents

According to a report released by the Chico California Highway Patrol (CHP), there has been a dramatic increase in the number of accidents on Highway 99 over the last year. The report, released on Wednesday, February 20, 2019, said that, since November 2017, the highway has seen a 37 percent increase in auto accidents. Officers say that they suspect an influx of population after Paradise residents lost their homes in the Camp Fire may be a contributing factor in the dramatic increase of highway crashes. Reportedly, CHP is working with Cal Trans to improve safety on the freeway.

Fresno DUI Accident Injures Two

A DUI accident occurred on the morning of January 21 along First Street and Gettysburg Avenue in Fresno. A driver of a black Mercedes-Benz C230 reportedly struck a vehicle at the intersection and continued north along First Street. When the motorist approached the intersection of First Street and Shaw Avenue, his car collided with a traffic light pole along the southeast corner. The Mercedes-Benz continued and came to a rest after crashing into three more vehicles stopped at a red light. Medical personnel responding to the scene transported two parties to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. An update regarding the conditions of those injured has not yet been released by officials.

Citrus Heights Injury Accident on Business 80

A Citrus Heights injury accident occurred at about 6:30 p.m. on January 21 along Business 80, just North of the Auburn Boulevard off-ramp. One of the drivers was reported as having left the scene of the crash. The violent collision was between a white Cadillac Escalade SUV and a black Honda Civic. According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) report, the two vehicles were left blocking all three lanes of traffic, and the collision caused damage to a steel beam at the connector, which required emergency crews to repair right away. Although an ambulance was called for reported injuries in the crash, it is unknown what trauma level was assigned. The SUV had to be towed from the scene. Whether drugs or alcohol was a factor in the accident is unknown at the time of this report.
