Car Crash Kills Redding Pastor, Seriously Injures One

The Reverend Timothy Moore from The Church of The Redeemed was killed in a traffic collision Monday. Pastor Tim’s love and service to the Redding community will be remembered for years to come.
What Happened?
Moore, 68, was traveling in Palo Cedro near the Deschutes off-ramp on the morning of Monday, September 19, 2016, when the sport utility vehicle he was driving collided with another motorist. According to California Highway Patrol (CHP), Moore’s vehicle veered left and crossed over into oncoming traffic causing a fiery head on collision. The sequence of events leading up to the collision remain unclear. Authorities don’t know the reason for Moore veering into oncoming traffic.
The Reverend’s Son and Daughter-in-Law Drive By Scene of Crash
Micah Moore was traveling to his landscaping business on Monday with his wife when they came upon the scene of the accident. Police were redirecting traffic so the couple weren’t able to get a good view of the accident, which was probably a blessing in disguise. Micah’s wife asked him if that was his father. Micah insisted it wasn’t. Micah received a phone call at 11:00 a.m. The accident they had passed earlier in the day was in fact Micah’s father, Pastor Tim. The family has been together at Pastor Tim Moore’s residence since the tragic accident took place. They are surrounded by family and are trying to wrap their minds around the passing of their beloved father, spouse and friend.
Reverend’s Morning Routine Included Driving Out to Watch the Sunrise
Tim would travel east of Redding every day to witness the sunrise. That’s why he was in the Palo Cedro area that morning Micah said of his father’s morning routine. He would spend time with God and take in the beauty of the morning sunrise. He was in a routine of giving thanks for the many blessings that had been bestowed upon him, and more importantly the countless blessings he had witnessed happening to members of his congregation.
Reverend a Retired Employee of Shasta Paper Company
Before starting the Church of the Redeemed, Moore worked for Shasta Paper Company. He retired from Shasta Paper one month before the company closed their doors. Moore then opened his heart and started the Church of the Redeemed 20 years ago. One of the main focuses of the church was to minister to people who had lost their way. Many community members remember Pastor Tim as being an angel among them. They said he was always happy to help someone in need — that his door was always open to those down on their luck.
Applaud for First Responders to Accident Scene
Many are applauding the courage of first responders who saved the driver in the vehicle that Moore collided with. The driver in the other vehicle was Reed,31, who suffered major injuries and was transported in critical condition to Mercy Medical Center in Redding, California.
