Authorities have not yet publicly reported whether other individuals were injured in the crash and what factors are believed to have caused the collision. Accidents like this one often result from factors like speeding, distracted driving, drunk driving, road defects, and more.

Ly Thao Nyia Yi managed Nyia Yi Farms with his family in Stockton. Ly was a fixture at the Bay Meadows and San Mateo farmers’ markets where he sold his produce and greeted each customer with a cheerful smile. He will be truly missed by those who surrounded him for his kind and loving soul. A GoFundMe account has been created by his family members to cover expenses related to his sudden death.
What is Wrongful Death?
Wrongful death is defined as the loss of life resulting from the negligent actions of another party or entity. When this happens, surviving family members may file a wrongful death claim to recover damages incurred. To recover compensation in these types of cases, a link between the individual’s death and the negligent or intentional act must be proven.
For instance, driver error is attributable to a majority of all car accidents. Some of the reasons may include disobeying traffic laws, distracted driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and speeding. When a motorist fails to exercise due care on the road, it is a negligent action which may be considered in a wrongful death lawsuit. Contact an experienced attorney for more details.
