Accidents January 21

SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA – Three San Joaquin County Sheriff’s deputies were taken to a nearby hospital Monday evening following a collision involving two patrol vehicles.

According to the SJC sheriff’s office, the incident occurred just after 5 p.m. along East Main Street not far from South Gillis Road. Deputies were responding to reports of dirt bike and ATV riders who were allegedly operating recklessly near a canal when the crash happened.

Officials said the deputies were transported as a precaution to undergo medical evaluation. The California Highway Patrol’s Stockton Division confirmed that three deputies were taken to a local hospital, though the extent of their injuries has not been disclosed.

No additional injuries were reported, and authorities have not indicated whether any of the riders involved were taken into custody. The circumstances surrounding the crash are still being reviewed.
