June 2018 Community Events in Redding

From river swimming events to local food festivals, Redding has something for everybody to enjoy. Those looking for something to do in Redding in June may be interested in the fun events listed below.

Sundial Splash

When: June 16, 2018, with activities starting at 8:30 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m.

Where: Riverfront Park and along the Sacramento River in Redding

Sundial Splash, named after Redding’s famous bridge, is a community river float for the whole family. The float includes a race but is open to all skill levels. Attendees are welcome to use canoes, surf skis, stand-up paddle boards, drift boats, kayaks and anything else that can be used to float down the Sacramento River. Live music performances will take place by the riverside as participants float by.

After the float, community members are invited to enjoy lunch at the South Bonnyview Reginato River Access. Tickets are $20 for those over 16 years of age. Those under 15 can take part for free. Entry fee includes free transportation, souvenir wristbands, access to the safety clinic, and entrance to the event raffle. All ticket profits will be donated to local charities.

Taste of Redding

When: June 10, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Where: Redding Sculpture Garden

The Redding Sculpture Garden at City Hall hosts the Taste of Redding event every year. The event includes food from local restaurants and farms as well as beverages from area wineries and breweries. Attendees can enjoy local flavors while listening to live music from three different stages featuring a full line-up of bands. More than 1,500 people attend every year and tickets should be purchased in advance. Proceeds from the event will support the Redding Rotary Club.

Brews By The Bridge

When: June 15, 2018, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Where: Sundial Bridge at Turtle Bay in Redding

The Turtle Bay Exploration Park is hosting a beer-tasting event by the north end of Redding’s Sundial Bridge. The annual event is a great way to celebrate the beginning of summer with live music, fresh food, outdoor fun activities and local beers. Featured breweries include nine Northern California beer-makers and food will be provided by local caterers. Proceeds from the event support exhibitions and educational programs offered by Turtle Bay.
