Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Roseville Closes Sunrise Avenue
I’m Ed Smith, a Roseville motorcycle accident attorney. A fatal motorcycle accident on Monday night just before 7pm closed Sunrise Avenue in Roseville.
Details of the Accident
According to officials from the Roseville Police Department, the accident occurred around 7pm in the location of Sunrise Avenue and Cirby Way. Officers who responded to the scene said that the motorcyclist was traveling north on Sunrise Avenue when the accident occurred. An Audi SUV exited the Safeway shopping center and made a left turn onto southbound Sunrise Avenue. This is when the Audi SUV collided with the motorcycle.
Fatal Injuries Sustained
The motorcycle rider, identified only as a young male from the area, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased as a result of the traumatic injuries he suffered in the collision. The driver of the Audi SUV, who has not been identified, did not suffer injuries in the accident and remained at the scene to speak with investigators. The investigation of the crash kept Sunrise Avenue closed from Cirby Way to Madden Lane until close to 4am Tuesday morning.
We extend our sympathies to the family and friends of the young man who lost his life in this tragic motorcycle collision.
Motorcycle Accident Investigation
When someone suffers fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident due to another person’s negligence, it is devastating to surviving family and friends. It is important to contact an experienced Roseville motorcycle accident attorney who can properly investigate the cause of the collision in order to determine liability (fault) for the accident. If the motorist was at fault for the crash, a claim for wrongful death can be filed.

Tips for Making Yourself Visible on a Motorcycle
Motorcycle safety should be the number-one concern of all riders and passengers. One issue that many riders put at the forefront is making themselves as visible as possible when on their motorcycle. There are many different ways to ensure this happens, some of which are outlined below.
Ride a Colorful Bike
Not every rider will want to purchase a motorcycle that is full of color. If you don’t mind the color, be sure to purchase a colorful bike. A bike with color will help you be seen by other motorists on the roads of Roseville. Riding a dark-colored motorcycle will only make it more difficult for motorists to see you, even during the daytime.
Don’t Drive in Blind Spots
Make it a point to never drive in blind spots. Riding your motorcycle in a blind spot will make it virtually impossible for other motorists to see you. It’s understandable that you won’t be able to avoid blind spots 100 percent of the time, but be sure to spend as little time in them as possible. This means making swift passes and positioning yourself in a lane that allows all motorists to see you.
Use the Horn
Motorcyclists should use the horn on their bike to alert distracted drivers of their presence. Even though the horn is seen as a device of discontent, it can be quite useful when on a motorcycle. If you notice a driver weaving in and out of their lane near you, give your horn a couple of taps to let them know you are in their vicinity.
Wear Reflective Gear
The gear you wear while on your motorcycle should be reflective. This goes for both daytime and nighttime riding. You can put reflective strips on your jacket and pants or you can wear a reflective vest. All of these items will help you be seen by other motorists.
