5-Year Old Involved in Pedestrian Accident

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Monday, October 23rd, the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District (ConFire) arrived at 2400 block of Yorkshire Drive near Country Manor Park. Once at the collision site, they discovered that a pedestrian-and-vehicle collision left a 5-year old girl with severe injuries. The ConFire crews found the girl lying on the ground.

In less than 10 minutes upon their arrival, medical personnel had the child en route towards a helicopter’s designated landing spot. The female child was transported via airlift from Southeast Antioch to the Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

In addition, the firefighters also alerted the police after observing a group of people gathered around the vehicle driver, who was receiving multiple threats from bystanders.

As the details of this unfortunate accident are still unfolding, the cause of the collision is not yet known.
