According to officials of the Vacaville Police Department (VPD), the collision was first reported at around 6 p.m. A caller contacted VPD, indicating that people had been injured due to an accident at the intersection of Marshall and Nut Tree Roads.
The crash reportedly happened between a GMC SUV and a Honda sedan. Exactly how the collision occurred has not yet been made clear by investigating authorities. Additionally, the intersection was closed down for several hours after the incident occurred, causing major traffic in the area.
Response and Injury
VPD dispatched first responders to the site of the crash immediately. Upon arrival, responders discovered that a 48-year-old woman who had been driving the Honda sustained critical injuries during the collision. The woman was immediately rushed by ambulance to the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center for emergency treatment. However, the woman’s injuries were too severe and she reportedly died not long after arriving at the hospital.
The identity of the woman has not yet been reported by VPD pending the notification of her next-of-kin.
We send our condolences to the family and friends of the woman who passed away in this tragic accident.
A Drunk Driver
The driver of the GMC, a 65-year-old male resident of Vacaville was also found in his vehicle at the scene of the accident. The man did not sustain any injuries. Losing somebody important to you can be extremely difficult. Not only is the mourning process a serious and difficult one, but the absence of a lost spouse, partner, or family member can have far-reaching consequences.
This is why those who have lost loved ones due to the negligence of others are able to recover for many types of losses. Recoverable damages in wrongful death cases include; funeral and burial costs, loss of inheritance, loss of future financial support, loss of comfort, affection, moral support, and much more.
Though dealing with the legal aspects of wrongful death may seem distant, having a lawyer on your side as soon as possible can be critical to your case. Lawyers are able to prevent vital evidence from being covered up and can offer you peace of mind during a difficult time.
