Sometimes, a traffic report may contain an error pertaining to accurately listing the at-fault party. Similar Wrong-Way Accident
A similar wrong-way accident took place in Turlock on May 21, 2017. A motorist had entered Highway 99 from the exit at Main Street and allegedly allowed their vehicle to travel against the flow of traffic. An oncoming vehicle was unable to avoid the wrong-way driver, which resulted in a tragic head-on collision. Emergency personnel arrived at the scene to extricate one person out of one of the involved vehicles. It was reported that four individuals were transported to a hospital for injuries that were described as major to minor.
Wrong-Way Driving Accidents
A wrong-way automobile accident is when a driver allows their vehicle to travel along the opposing lane of travel, which could result in a serious collision. Usually, these accidents are caused by factors such as drunk driving, distracted driving and insufficient warning signs. Although wrong-way accidents only account as 3% of all motor vehicle collisions, they resulted in fatalities 22% of the time. A victim that has been involved in an accident with a wrong-way driver may suffer traumatic, catastrophic or even fatal injuries. For more details, contact an experienced personal injury lawyer.
