Takata Airbag Recall January 2017

I’m Ed Smith, a Davis auto accident attorney. More than 652,000 vehicles produced by thirteen different automakers have been a part of a recent recall issued in the United States. The reason for this recall is that these vehicles have been equipped with the Takata airbag inflators. These airbag inflators have injured over 180 people and killed 16 victims worldwide.

Why?

The Takata airbag inflators may deploy with excessive force. This force can separate the metal canister which can propel the shrapnel into the compartment of the passenger side. This defect in the mechanism of the airbag deployment can result in an auto products liability case if someone is injured or even killed.
